Not-for-profit agency Senior Health Care St. Louis (Autonomous Case Management, Inc.) began in 1999 after co-founder and Registered Nurse, Julie Hess, witnessed elderly, disabled and seriously ill patients in hospitals without the support of family. With no one to advocate for their care, they were often told by medical professionals that they had no choice but to be admitted to a nursing home. Hess knew other options existed and decided it was time to help.

Senior Health Care St. Louis was founded on the belief that by using a team approach — experienced nurses and case managers — we could develop tailored solutions for clients. That would allow for better outcomes for clients who neither desired nor needed to move to a nursing home. Senior Health Care St. Louis still uses that team approach today. We are a trusted partner for care solutions.

“Senior Health Care St. Louis does a wonderful job assessing the current situation of a person with care needs and of offering very practical suggestions for family members to follow toward enabling their loved one to be cared for in the least restrictive setting possible (preferably at home) for as long as possible. The clients whom I refer to Senior Health Care St. Louis universally inform me that she is an absolute joy to work with. She is always very personal and caring, and at the same time, always knowledgeable and professional.”
